Meghan McCain to leave ABC's "The View"

Meghan McCain is leaving ABC's "The View" in July after four seasons, sources confirm to Axios.

Why it matters: McCain, the daughter of late Arizona Sen. John McCain, is the only conservative host on the show, which has experienced some of its best ratings with her on the panel.

  • She has sometimes feuded with her liberal co-hosts, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin on air.
  • Prior to joining "The View," McCain worked as a columnist for The Daily Beast, a host for Fox News and a regular MSNBC contributor.
  • News of McCain's departure from the view was first reported by the Daily Mail.
