Trump-backed Susan Wright wins special House race in Texas to replace her husband

Susan Wright (R) on Saturday night won Texas' 6th congressional district special election for the House, AP reports.

Why it matters: Wright will replace her husband, Rep. Ron Wright (R), who died in February from COVID-19. Susan Wright received a last minute endorsement from former President Trump earlier this week, becoming the only Republican candidate of 11 in the race who received his support, per the Texas Tribune.
