In photos: At least 1 dead as Tropical Storm Elsa moves up Florida coast toward Georgia

After making landfall along the North Florida gulf coast Wednesday morning, Tropical Storm Elsa moved up the coast toward southern Georgia, killing at least one person near the state line, the Associated Press reports.

State of play: Tropical storm conditions are expected overnight Wednesday as the storm brings heavy rainfall, and possible flooding, to Georgia and South Carolina, per the National Hurricane Center.


  • Elsa was still boasting winds speeds of 45 mph by 5 p.m. Wednesday, per the NHC.
  • Tropical storm conditions could continue into Thursday and Friday as Elsa moves into New England, according to the NHC.
