Caeleb Dressel wins Olympic gold in men's 100m butterfly, breaking world record

American swimmer Caeleb Dressel broke the world record in the men's 100-meter butterfly final in Tokyo on Saturday, picking up his third gold medal of this year's Games.

The big picture: Hungary's Kristóf Milák won the silver, and Switzerland's Noe Ponti took the bronze.

  • Dressel still has the men's 50m freestyle race ahead of him, as well as likely relays. He has already won gold in the men's 100m freestyle and 4x100m medley relay in Tokyo.
  • The Tokyo medals add to the two golds he won at the 2016 Rio Games.
